Fed up with "pop-up" windows appearing when you're surfing the net? Download
pop-up stopper (426Kb) - it does what it claims to do.
Into MP3 music? CD-DA X-Tractor
(838Kb) enables you to rip tracks, or entire CDs,
onto your hard drive. Once there you can play them on your PC, transfer them to
an MP3 player or convert them to WAV files and burn them to your own CD.
Want to transfer a file from one PC to another but the file's too big and you
don't have a Zip drive or a CD writer. Splitter
(58Kb) will split the file into files that will fit onto multiple floppy discs (
it'll also put them back together again).
Powerpoint Viewer (2.75Mb) - if you don't have Powerpoint on your PC you need this to
play Powerpoint presentations.
Plagued by the ever increasing amount of spam e-mail? Then download
MailWasher (1.51Mb).
This nifty programme lets you look at the new messages on your mail server and
tells you who they're from and the subject matter. You can then bounce and delete,
or just delete, the ones
you don't want to receive, so when you run your e-mail programme you save
download time. (When you bounce an e-mail, a message is sent to the sender
saying that your e-mail account is inoperative so they should stop sending you
messages).
